how to stay top of mind with your audience (so they actually buy)

So. Sexual desire. Libido. Whatever you wanna call it

It’s when you’re hot and ready for adult fun time like a Little Caesar’s pizza

I adore my partner and find them sexually attractive, but I forget sex exists sometimes 💀 (AuDHD amirite?)

Like, in my day-to-day, my brain isn't looking for opportunities to have sex. Especially when my partner and I live apart

My partner though? They find ANY opportunity to have sex, and they're ALWAYS ready to take advantage of it

If you're familiar with the types of sexual desire, you'll know that some people (like me) need to be reminded that they like sex and wanna have it

What they need is context

These are moments where you might feel a lil flush and flirty — not full on HORNY, but you can be if you take advantage of the moment before it passes 👀

So I bought a Kindle and started reading romance and smut 🫣

My regular day-to-day didn't have enough context for my brain to remember that sexy time exists. But now, reading — one of the many hobbies on my roster — stimulates my brain in multiple ways 😏

  • creative rest → my imagination gets to run wild with my mainly fantasy reads
  • the context of sexy → random Tuesday reading? Here's a sexy thought 🥵
  • ideas and inspo → oh that was hot. I wonder if my hip has enough mobility for that 🤸🏾

so wtf does this have to do with business?

Context, baby. CONTEXT.

Your audience isn't always in <buying mode> or even <thinking about my problem mode>

They need context to remember that:

  • they have a problem you solve
  • they actually want to fix said problem
  • YOU are the person who can help them

Just like the sapphic smut reminds my brain "oh yeah, sex is fun and I like it," your people need YOU to create context that reminds them why they care about what you do

your content is creating context (whether you realize it or not)

This is what your content — wherever it may be — and your marketing are actually for. You're not simply educating or entertaining

You're creating context that warms people up so that when they're ready to buy (or engage with you, share your work, etc.), you're already top of mind

Think about it. People are seeing your content but they're not buying, sharing, or engaging?

Maybe they don't need more content. Maybe they need more context — more moments where you help them connect the dots between their life and your offer

That's the difference between posting into the void and posting with purpose. Same content, different intention behind it

4 low-effort ways to create context for your audience right now

These are super low-lift, take 10 minutes max, and you should pick one to do today if you wanna get out of the overthinking loop I know you have going on 🙂‍↕️

when you don't know what to post

Open the app where your people hang out. Post 1-3 sentences about what you're working on or a problem you solved for a client. Hit post. That's it

You can do this again every 3 days and track what gets engagement. No content calendar required

when you're building your community or network

Open your email or DMs. Send "Hey! Been thinking about you, how's [thing they were working on] going?" to 3 mutuals you wanna connect with

Send it exactly like that, no overthinking the wording or wondering if it's super creepy. That's networking — and it creates context for YOU in someone else's brain

when you've abandoned your email list

Open your email platform. Set a timer for 10 minutes and write the simplest possible email. Write about whatever's on your mind — a client story, a random observation about your industry, how you read a blog post that told you to do this homework (wink wink)

Hit send. Just don't tell your list you’re sorry you abandoned them (cos you haven't, not really!)

when you feel like you're posting to the void

Set a timer for 10 minutes. Go to where your ideal clients are talking (a Facebook group, LinkedIn posts, Threads, wherever). Leave comments that are thoughtful and intentional — not "great post!" but actual engagement with what they said

Once the timer goes off, you're done. And I highly recommend commenting on some not-business related stuff too, just for funsies to see what happens

and that's what reading smut taught me about B2B sales 🥵🌶️

You don't need to be posting 24/7 to stay top of mind. You just need to create enough context, often enough, that when your audience is ready to make a move, they think of you first

Same way the smut reminds me that sex is fun — your content reminds your audience that their problem is worth solving and you're the one who can help 😉
