new in Notion: tab groups ๐Ÿ—ƒ๏ธ โ€“ now you can group your tabs in the Notion app instead of having a billion tabs open all the time

Just like in your browser, tabs can quickly get unruly when you're working on a project. Notion just released tab groups to save you from the chaos and help you wrangle your tabs!

how it works

  1. Click the Tab Groups button in the tab bar (which you can find between the sidebar toggle and navigation buttons)
  2. Select either:
  • <New group from X tabs> to move any ungrouped tabs into a new tab group or
  • <New empty group> to start a new tab group from your default page
  1. Give your group a name and an icon for some personalization
  2. Tada! Your first tab group! You can create multiple tab groups btw. Click on the Tab Groups to view the tab group youโ€™re in
  3. Once youโ€™ve created multiple tab groups, you can easily switch between them by clicking on the Tab Groups button and selecting the group you want to work in

what I personally love about this feature

I can create separate groups for my dashboard and client dashboards or client projects.

(I only have one project going right now but my books are open for custom Notion builds, Ask the Oracle sessions and Notion Triage reports in August!)

This makes it easier for me to switch between different kinds of work without messing up my flow or closing important tabs I wanna come back to later.

Tab groups are even sticky so when you open Notion for the first time, those tabs WILL STILL BE THERE! ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿคฉ I can literally dive right back into work with all the tabs I had up last time!

I've even got my dashboard page pinned for easy access ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ๐ŸคŒ๐Ÿพ

have you seen this in your Notion workspace yet?

Are you loving it like I am or have you not found a use for this yet? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
