1. you fill out my inquiry form
This form is about you telling me more about yourself, your Notion experience, and what you
want out of your custom Notion build. You’ll also give me a timeline and budget – which is
totally boring project management shit, but critical info for keeping us both on track!
2. I’ll review your form + invite you to get started
I’ll check out your form responses, do some snooping about you online, and see if we vibe. If we vibe and I think I can deliver you a cool Notion build, I’ll send you an email invite to set up a contract on Upwork.
Why Upwork? So we don’t have to fuss about recurring invoices, allowing for smoother payments. It also allows us to have all our info in one place, instead of in multiple places in email. That means we can just focus on what we’re building together 🙂↕️
3. if needed, we’ll have a kick-off call
This call is for those who prefer to have more ‘in-person’ interaction before the start of the project. It’s less about sussing out the vibe (cos we already know the vibes are immaculate), and more about connecting as client and service provider. If you’re not the type to need this, we’ll skip it.
4. I’ll get to work
Although I’m doing all the heavy lifting of building this space for you, it’s also very collaborative. I want to create a Notion space that you’ll actually use (and not just abandon when life takes the piss) so your input is required.
I build in phases, and your input would be required after (and sometimes during) each phase:
- phase 1 🠒 the skeleton; it’s ugly but it’s the foundation of your space and workflows so it’s gotta be sturdy!
- phase 2 🠒 ✨aesthetics✨; making your space beautiful and on brand using design concepts, images, icons, colours, the whole works
- phase 3 🠒 SOPs; the longest phase because I’ll be writing tutorials for you on how your space works, how you can make minor edits without hiring me again (although you can if you wanna 👀), and how to actually use your space without wanting to punt Notion into the sun (again)
After phases 1 and 2, you’ll give me your feedback through Notion comments. I’ll make tweaks based on your feedback, but those tweaks are limited based on the timeline, budget and scope of the project.
5. Final onceover + handover
Once I’m done with the SOPs, I’ll give you the go ahead to try out your final space while I make sure I didn’t miss anything. If there are any minor tweaks, I’ll make em here. If there aren’t any tweaks, I’ll hand over your space so you can get started using it ASAP.
Handover depends on where your shiny new space lives:
- If it’s in your Notion workspace, just give me the boot when you're ready! 👢
- If it’s in mine, I’ll send you a step-by-step guide to duplicate it into your own space (easy peasy, promise!)
Depending on the project, you might also get a lil ✨designer’s notes doc✨ from me—especially if your build had lots of visual stuff or specific setup choices I want you to know about.
In Upwork (remember we’re using that), I’ll submit the link to the final Notion space as the completed project. You’ll only have to hit <approve> to complete the project, and that settles the admin and payments for the project ✅
